Publishing

Within the AlgebraKiT CMS you can use versioning of your AlgebraKiT exercises. The mechanism of publishing is used to release a newer version to your LMS.

The versioning system of AlgebraKiT exercises supports the common standard of major and minor versions. The version number of an exercise is denoted as [MAJOR].[MINOR]. An exercise is by default created in DRAFT state. No version history is available for this state. Only after an exercise has been approved by clicking the Approve button on the bottom of the edit page, a version is assigned and version history is started. The first version of an approved exercise is by default version 1.0.

Once an exercise has been approved, commit messages are required when saving a question. The Save button will be disabled until a message is entered. When saving, you have to select whether your change is a minor or major change. AlgebraKiT automatically increases the MAJOR or MINOR version number accordingly.

Examples

An exercise with version 1.3 is updated with a minor change. After saving the exercise, the new version of the exercise is 1.4.

An exercise with version 1.3 is updated with a major change. After saving the exercise, the new version of the exercise is 2.0.
